1971 Martin D18
I traded a Sears 12 string and $200 for this guitar in 1975 when I was living in Los Angeles. Since then, it's lived with me in Alaska, Hawaii, Singapore, London, Florida and now we both call Washington, DC our home.
It's got a crack or two, quite a few dings but that is what gives it character. In 2016, I sent it to Dream Guitars in
Asheville, NC for an overhaul that probaby cost more than
this guitar is worth but I thought it deserved it.
It may not be the best sounding guitar I have. Certainly, it's not the most beautiful but it has maturity and a lot of experience. After all, we've been together for over 35 years...
